The Tarot deck features the Major Arcana. Each Arcana represents a benchmark in somebody's life, a page in a book. Some shrug off the idea of Tarot readings, but a few realize how much meaning the Arcana has. Every Persona user is associated with an Arcana.
THE FOOL
The Fool has not yet begun the journey to enlightenment, and is a completely blank slate- a wild card. The Fool represents innocence, divine inspiration, freedom, spontaneity, and creativity.
THE MAGICIAN
The Magician is one who conjures up forces of the mind for power, and rarely uses brute force to get his way. The Magician represents action, self-confidence, initiative, and the power to harness one's talents.
THE PRIESTESS
The High Priestess looks beyond the surface. She sees more than others, and can figure deeper meaning to everything. The Priestess represents wisdom, intuition, and serenity.
THE EMPRESS
The Empress is the queen and mother, a decisive and caring ruler. she can be both kind and punishing. The Empress represents femininity, creativity, abundance, and decisiveness. She is a firm and caring leader who will protect those under her.
THE EMPEROR
While the Empress is the mother, the Emperor is the father, the strict paternal force. The Emperor represents masculinity, courage, loyalty, and direct thinking. He is a steadfast pillar, one who does not waver, no matter the situation.
THE HIEROPHANT
The Hierophant is one who looks past the physical world, and tries to understand the things beyond it. Always asking "why?", the Hierophant represents education, authority, conservatism, and obedience to the divine.
THE LOVERS
The Lovers represent a major decision. While the card is usually applied to love, it can symbolize a major decision, or a friendship. The Lovers represent the need to decide for oneself, and that there will be sacrifices either way.
THE CHARIOT
The Chariot is a leader and a conqueror, one that lives life for the moment. The Chariot represents victory, self-assertion, conquest, war, control, and command. They charge forward regardless of the future.
JUSTICE
Justice is unbiased retribution, punishment in its purest form. Justice represents objectivity, rationality, logic, and analysis. The will to protect the good as well as the ability to resist becoming corrupted.
THE HERMIT
The Hermit is one for introspection and self-awareness, unlike Justice and the Chariot before him. The Hermit represents wisdom, solitude, retreat, and philosophical searches.
FORTUNE
Fortune is a cruel mistress, unpredictable and entirely random. The Wheel represents fate and varying luck, opportunities, and fortunes. So how will your luck go?
STRENGTH
Strength is both the physical strength of a lion, and the emotional strength of a woman taming the beast. Strength represents self-control, gentleness, courage, and virtue over brute force.
HUNGER
Hunger is not found in standard Tarot decks, but still holds sway over the world. The true stray sheep of the arcana. Beyond the Devil Arcana, Hunger is someone who's heart is truly dark. Manipulation and destruction lie in their hearts.
THE HANGED MAN
The man hangs not for any crime, but for a a new viewpoint in life. The Hanged Man represents renewal, self-sacrifice, new perspectives, and freedom.
DEATH
Death is the beginning, and the end. It is not so much death as it is rebirth. Death represents metamorphosis, deep change, and cycles of life.
TEMPERANCE
Death has gone, and a perfect balance has taken its place. Temperance represents synthesis, prudence, harmony, and the blending of opposites.
THE DEVIL
Temperance has been overtaken by temptation, indulgence in the world's physical pleasures. The Devil represents selfishness, impulses, and violence, and encourages one to give in to its most primal desires. But it also represents connections, maybe a healthy bond or commitment.
THE TOWER
The edifice built from greed and arrogance is destroyed with a single bolt of lightning. The Tower represents disruption in the form of impending disaster, destruction, and illusions being wiped away.
THE STAR
The Star is a beacon of hope, a shimmering light in the night sky that inspires and strengthens. The Star represents hope, self-confidence, peace, generosity, and joy.
THE MOON
The Moon goes in cycles, ever-changing and never still. The Moon represents creativity, inspiration, dreams, and the subconscious.
THE SUN
The Sun is a symbol of strength, the truth, and direct use of power to achieve one's goals. The Sun represents optimism, accomplishment, contentment, and energy.
JUDGEMENT
Judgment is the final obstacle, the greatest challenge, the last thing between humanity and something greater. Judgment represents self-awareness, coming to terms with one's own flaws, and the courage to push onto the final leg of the journey.
AEON
Much like Hunger, Aeon isn't part of standard Tarot decks and yet still holds sway over the world. Aeon is the dawn of a new age, revealing lies and demanding honesty, while searching for the truth within yourself.
THE WORLD
The ultimate power has finally revealed itself to the one who has gone through so many trials and tribulations to find it. The World is the ultimate Arcana, the final step in the journey of the Fool, the Arcana to end all Arcanas, and with it, miracles can be performed. The World represents the world itself, the totality of it, fulfillment, wholeness, and harmony. Nothing can start with The World, for no one person can make up an entire World. However, if someone with infinite potential were to expand their own world, it could be possible to unlock this Arcana's power...
